SIX WEEK SCREENWRITING CLASS - $650 per person

This is a class of 10-15 screenwriters from the very beginning of the screenwriting process through the completion of their rough draft over a period of six weeks.

All assignments are due at least 24 hours before the next class.

If a student would like feedback from the instructor before their work is shared and critiqued in a class environment, they must submit their work at least 72 hours before the next session.

 WEEK 1

In this class, participants will be introduced to the concept of active versus passive storytelling and will take turns writing loglines in class.

HOMEWORK 1: Over the course of the first week, participants will be required to write a logline for their screenplay.

WEEK 2

During the second session, the class will discuss the loglines prepared by participants and will then talk through the process of writing an outline and a treatment for their feature script.

HOMEWORK 2: Participants will be required to write and submit a treatment for their feature, as well as a two-page biography for each main character, over the second week of the seminar.

WEEK 3:

In the third week of class, the instructor will cover the process of outlining and writing ACT I of your screenplay.

HOMEWORK 3: Over the third week, participants will be required to write and submit Act I of their screenplay.

WEEK 4:

Scenes from the previous week will be selected by the instructor to discuss as a class, and the scenes will be read through and critiqued by participants. If a student would like their scene to be selected, they are encouraged to make that request when they submit their work. Following the critique, the instructor will discuss the process of writing the first half of ACT II.

HOMEWORK 4: Participants are required to write and submit the first half of ACT II.

WEEK 5:

After reading and critiquing scenes from the first half of ACT II, the class will talk through the work of finishing ACT II.

HOMEWORK 5: Over the fifth week, all participants will finish and submit the rest of ACT II.

WEEK 6:

In our final session, the instructor will critique scenes from the last half of ACT II and discuss the work of finishing the script.

HOMEWORK 6: All completed scripts are due no more than six days following the completion of the seminar. Having received these screenplays on time, the instructor will complete a round of Writer's Notes (as per the services described below) outlining the work ahead in terms of rewrites and further development.

FIVE WEEK, ONE-ON-ONE SCREENPLAY COACHING - $1250 per person

Structurally the same as the 6-Week Screenwriting Seminar, the 5 Week Coaching program condenses the first two weeks of the program and walks a writer from the very first steps of the screenwriting process through the completion of a rough draft over a period of five weeks. Participants will receive one-on-one coaching and feedback through every step of the process, and will receive Writer's Notes upon completion.

WRITER'S NOTES - $185 per feature or episodic screenplay

Over three to four pages, the development team at Lady of the Light Productions will prepare development notes to guide a writer in rewriting their script from its present state into its most excellent, most produceable, and most marketable iteration in as few drafts as possible. As with our Producer's Coverage, Writer's Coverage will include a "Recommend, Consider, or Pass" rating, as well as other ratings that support this position, in order to give the writer a more objective sense of how much work is still required by the development process.

PRODUCER'S COVERAGE - $200 per feature or episodic screenplay

Over three to four pages, the development team at Lady of the Light Productions will prepare and present the story, the characters, the strengths and the weaknesses of a screenplay in a format suitable for review by producers, agents, managers, and other industry professionals. Coverage will include a "Recommend, Consider, or Pass" rating, as well as other ratings that support this position. Senior executives at Lady of the Light Productions, as well as at 8 Sided Films, will be presented with all coverage bearing a "Recommend" rating.

OTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE ON REQUEST - prices are negotiable

Other services may include the writing of a logline or synopsis based on a completed screenplay, the ghostwriting of screenplays based on a concept provided by the author, rewrites, polishing, proofreading, or producing and packaging services. Prices will vary at the sole discretion of The Lady of the Light Productions, depending on the type of content and on a variety of other subjective factors.
